Can You Damage Your Garage Doors03/01/2014 Back To Blog
The same way man created garage doors the same way man can destroy them. There are obviously two ways you can destroy your garage doors and that is intentionally and accidently. Damaging your garage doors intentionally doesn’t make much sense and when it does actually happen then it is mostly related to poor anger management control or with various kinds of intoxications. The other times that have nothing to do with purposely ruining your own or someone else’s property and belongings is when certain activities and circumstances lead toward the destruction and damaging of certain garage door parts or the whole garage door mechanism.
Most common accidents
Most common issues and accidents that involve unintentional garage door damaging are hitting the garage door with the car. During these types of accidents the garage door parts that suffer the most are garage door panels, garage door tracks, quite often garage door rollers, garage door springs and garage door cables. When you hit your garage door panel with your car, even though if you are not in full gear you gonna damage it. Your garage door tracks are even more sensitive since all it takes to bend those is to kick them with working tool or similar. The thing with garage door track is not that they are made poorly or they are made of low quality materials but they are made in certain way which in certain parts makes them more susceptible to damaging.
What to do to avoid evitable?
The best thing you can do for your garage door is to be careful about the way you drive and about the way you approach your driveway and enter your garage. If you keep the car in the straight line you will have nothing to worry about.
